Gnosis in the 20th Century

SUPREME CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 1961-62

DEARLY BELOVED,

They say that there are seven Great Religions and five thousand Sects.  We, the Gnostics, affirm that there is only one great Religion: Truth.  We firmly believe that only those who experience the Truth are deeply religious.

The Truth wants to know itself in each human being.  Jesus of Nazareth is a living body of the Truth.  Jesus incarnated the Truth.  Whoever incarnates the Truth is made free.  Those who incarnated the Truth founded the Great Religions and the Great Schools of Mysteries.

Buddha, Hermes, Krishna, Quetzalcoatl, etc., etc., incarnated the Truth, and everyone who dissolves the Ego and raises the columns of the Templeon the living Stone incarnates the Truth.  There is no higher Religion than the Truth.

We must distinguish between religious forms and religious principles.  It is necessary to know that the Principles are living cosmic Formulas.  Religious forms are different systems of teaching those Principles.  The Great Infinite Universal Cosmic Religion assumes different forms according to the necessities of each race and each epoch.

And so, religious forms have followed one after another throughout millions of years.  The successive chain of all the Religions that have existed in the world always reveals the same immutable principles of the Truth.

Religion is a property as inherent to life as wetness is to water.

A person can be deeply religious and nevertheless not belong to any religion.  All those who are capable of experientially living the Truth are profoundly religious, even if they don’t belong to any religion.  Religion is the intimate relationship of the mind with the Truth.  Only the religious man or woman is truly revolutionary.

Some philosophers say that the Religions have failed.  We assure you that every Religion has accomplished its historical mission.

With just one living Buddha being born among the Buddhist ranks, Buddhism has already accomplished its mission; with just one Christified Man or Woman among the ranks of Christianity, the existence of Christianity is already justified; with just one True Imam among the Mohammedan ranks, the existence of the Mohammedan religion is already well justified.

All of the world’s great Religion’s have achieved their objective with men and women who achieved the Reuniting*, which is to say, incarnating the Truth.  Truly, many are called and few are chosen.  This law has been fulfilled in all Religions.

There is no reason to say that Religions failed in their mission to Reunite the human being with the Truth.  In all Religions there are perfected men and women who attained Reuniting.

Nothing justifies religious wars because all Religions teach the same principles.  The Witch Doctor of central Africa and the Archbishop of the metropolitan cathedral in Rome or London lean on depend on the same marvelous force of the Cosmic Religion; the principles are the same principles, the only thing that varies are the religious forms, so the fratricidal struggle between the diverse Religions is absurd.

The Cosmic Religion vibrates in each atom of the cosmos, because it beats in the heart of suns, in the heart of the human being, and in that of the ant.

NATURE’S MECHANICAL EVOLUTION

When death comes, something has to continue on.  That something is the Ego, a legion of elementary devils; this is Memory.  At the same time, the Memory is conditioned mind.

We affirm that the Ego is a bundle of memories; we affirm that the Ego is time; we affirm that the Ego reincarnates in order to fulfill unsatisfied desires; we affirm that the Ego (a legion of devils) is never purified nor is it ever perfected.

We need to die from moment to moment.  Only with the death of the Ego do we enter Nirvana; only with the death of the Ego is the Christ born in the divine dwelling of the Soul.  The Inner Christ does not evolve because it is perfect.  The Inner Christ is the Truth that wants to know itself in each man and woman.

Nature’s mechanical evolution exists, but it doesn’t lead anyone to perfection.  We need a tremendous Revolution of the Consciousness; when the Ego is dissolved there is a Revolution of the Consciousness.

SYNTHESIS OF GNOSIS

The Synthesis of the Universal Christian Gnostic Movement lies in two principles:  Dissolving the Ego and raising the Columns of the Temple of the Living God.

THE SEVEN COLUMNS OF THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM

The Temple of Wisdomhas seven Columns.  On each one of the seven Columns the word INRI is written with letters of fire.  Those seven Columns are the Fire’s seven Degrees of Power.  Only with INRI can we build the Templefor the Inner Christ.  The seven Columns are raised on the Philosophical Stone (Sex).

JESUS OF NAZARETH

Jesus was not the first to incarnate the Truth, nor will he be the last.

The Hierophant Jesus has the same attributes as Zeus, Jupiter, Apollo, Krishnaand Quetzalcoatl, and like them he also had his Immaculate Conception in the Womb of a Virgin.

The mythology tells us that Jesus was born on the 25th of December—the day of birth of the god Mithras[1] —in the village of Bethlehem, a village that at that time did not exist.  The word Bel or Beleno[2] signifies the Sun God of the Babylonians and the ancient Germans.  From this word comes the name Bethlehem, and the term Bethlehem indicates the Cosmic Christ, the Sun God, the Solar Logos.
