The Repentances of Pistis Sophia

The culmination of a life's Work, Pistis Sophia Unveiled is the commentary of Samael Aun Weor on the Gnostic gospel Pistis Sophia, a Valentinian Gnostic treatise of the teachings of the Christ to his apostles after the Resurrection.  As with many Gnostic gospels, the language of this treatise is dense and symbolic.  The meanings veiled therein are here unveiled by Samael.

In the first book of the treatise, Jesus tells the story of Pistis Sophia, who, due to some particular error, has fallen from the luminous heights she formerly inhabited into the darkness of the chaos below where her enemies, laying in wait, have taken most of her Light and Power away from her.  Stung by her predicament and realizing her error, Pistis Sophia once again turns her gaze to the heights, and sings her Repentances to the Father of all Lights to come and save her before her enemies can take away all of her Light from her.

All of this, explains Samael, is directly related to the spiritual aspirant of the path of Inner Self-Realization, because Pistis Sophia is in each one of us, and having fallen, only the Father of all Lights can save us.  We must comprehend and establish our connection to Him in and through the different parts of our own Being, corresponding to each one of the Repentances.
